Israel 2019
The Holy Land:
Past, Present, and Future

June 8-18, 2019

A Letter from Johnny & Elizabeth:
Out of all the nations we’ve explored over the years, Israel has definitely been one of our favorites. It’s been a dream of ours to host a group in Israel; to share this life-changing experience with other reformers. Unlike other tours, we wanted to design a trip with plenty of sightseeing, but also enough time for you to explore some optional additional sights at your own pace as you encounter the glory of God in the original Promised Land. We think there’s no better time to host this getaway than June 2019, in honor of Johnny’s 60th birthday.

Another unique part of this trip that we are so excited to share with you all will be a 3-night worship and prophetic conference in Jerusalem: Understanding Israel’s Role in Reformation. During these three days buses will provide transport to optional museums and Old Jerusalem so you can explore on your own. We can’t wait to share this trip of a lifetime with each of you!

At Caesarea by the sea we visit the Crusader's Castle, the Roman Amphitheater and water duct, and the port from which the Apostle Paul sailed to Rome. We continue northward along the Mediterranean coast to Mount Carmel where Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal by the Brook Kishon. After Haifa, we view Megiddo and the Plain of Armageddon, Jezreel and Esdraelon. Visit Nazareth and Cana. We will depart from the Roman hot springs resort city of Tiberias via a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum (John 6:24) to visit the ancient ruins of the first century synagogue where Jesus preached (Matt. 4:13-17). Then on to the Mt. of Beatitudes
where Jesus preached the "Sermon on the Mount" (Matt. 5-7) and to Tabgha - the chapel dedicated to the multiplication of the loaves and fishes - (Mark 6:34-44). Stop for a St. Peter’s Fish Lunch (included). We will then proceed to upper Galilee and the site of Peter's confession (Matt. 16:16) at Caesarea Phillipi and to Mt. Hermon (Psalm 89:12) the probable site of the Transfiguration (Matt. 17:1-8) and the present day Golan Heights where Israel, Lebanon and Syria come together. We will follow the fresh mountain waters of Mt. Hermon to the Sea of Galilee and to the outlet passage at the southern tip of the Sea.

DAY 05, JUNE 12: NAZARETH / JERICHO / JERUSALEM. Early morning departure from our hotel. We will stop at the beautiful Pilgrims Park at the Jordan River (where anyone who wants to can partake in an optional baptism). We continue past Bethshean and then south through the Jordan Valley to ancient Jericho and a commanding view of the Mt. of Temptation (Matt. 4:1-11) and Elisha's Fountain. We proceed to the Dead Sea for an optional dip and if time allows, we will also visit Qumran. Then up to Jerusalem through the Judean wilderness. Overnight at our hotel in the Holy City of Jerusalem.

DAY 06, JUNE 13: JERUSALEM. This exciting day will begin with a drive to Mt. Scopus and the Mt. of Olives (Matt. 24:3) for a panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem, visiting the Chapel of the Ascension, the Church of Pater Noster and the Dominus Flevit. Walk along Hosanna Road to the Gethsemane to visit the Church of All Nations which stands on the Rock of Agony where Jesus was betrayed by Judas (Matt. 26:36-57). Zion where we visit the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu on the site of Caiphas' House, the Room of the Last Supper (Luke 22:14-20) and the Tomb of King David.
