Restore 7 Statement Of Faith
We believe the Holy Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is without error in its original manuscripts and serves as the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)We believe in one God, eternally existing in three co-equal Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are one God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
God the Father
We believe God the Father is the Creator and Sovereign Lord of the universe. He is holy, just, loving, and merciful. He sovereignly governs all things according to His perfect will. (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 103:19; Ephesians 1:11)
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died a substitutionary atoning death on the cross, rose bodily from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Advocate. He will personally and visibly return to earth in power and glory. (John 1:1-14; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11)
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates, indwells, baptizes, and seals all believers at the moment of salvation. He empowers, guides, equips, and sanctifies believers for godly living and service. (John 16:8-11; Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 1:13-14; Galatians 5:22-23)
Humanity and Salvation
We believe all people are created in the image of God but have fallen into sin and are therefore spiritually dead and under God’s judgment. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is received as a free gift when a person repents of sin and trusts in Christ’s finished work on the cross. There is no other way to be reconciled to God. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6)We believe every true believer is eternally secure in Christ and will persevere in faith by the power of the Holy Spirit. (John 10:28-29; Romans 8:38-39)
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body and Bride of Christ, composed of all true believers from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. The local church is an autonomous congregation of baptized believers who gather for worship, teaching, fellowship, prayer, and the observance of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The Church exists to glorify God, make disciples, and proclaim the Gospel to the world. (Ephesians 4:4-6; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
Last Things
We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost—the saved unto eternal life and the lost unto eternal separation from God. We believe in the personal, visible, and glorious return of Jesus Christ. (John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:11-15; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)This Statement of Faith represents the core beliefs of our organization. While we welcome believers from various Christian traditions, we unite around these essential truths of the historic Christian faith.
