The mountain of Religion

An Introduction to the Mountain of Religion

In the area of culture referred to as RELIGION, we see God as REDEEMER, the color BLUE. He is LOVE displayed as HONOR. This is the honor that shows God authentic reverence, value, and deep respect, which is far from simply following religious rules or behaving out of obligation and performance. Honor, through religion, was meant to be infused into how we not only live towards Him but towards others as well. Satan uses THE RELIGIOUS SPIRIT (FALSE WORSHIP) and the demonic strategy of the PERIZZITES (IDOLATRY) to distort the truth of who God is. God has given us a mighty archangel, MICHAEL, to fight for those called to this mountain.

The LIE being perpetuated about God in the current RELIGIOUS SYSTEM is: WE HAVE TO WORK HARD AND BE GOOD IN ORDER TO KNOW GOD. The TRUTH about God that we will learn to display in RELIGION is: WE NEED A REDEEMER IN ORDER TO KNOW GOD.

The Face Of God As Redeemer On The Mountain Of Religion

A redeemer is one who gains possession by payment or ransom. It’s the payment for a prisoner. We all came from the heart of God before He put us on earth, but we’re born lost and in need of being ransomed. All have sinned, and it’s sin that separates us from the privilege of living eternally with God. God the Redeemer, in His wonderful mercy, came in the person of Jesus Christ. God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son as a gift of righteousness to “whosoever will.” For the joy set before Him, He endured the cross and was willingly sacrificed. It is in Jesus that we see the perfect reflection of this face of God as Redeemer. This is the greatest love possible that the Godhead could possibly reveal to us. Greater love has no one than to lay His life down for another.

The risk and sacrifice of the Godhead was enormous as they allowed Jesus, God in the flesh, to be mistreated, misunderstood, mocked, betrayed and ultimately killed—so that we might have the right and privilege of a close relationship with the God of the Universe. He didn’t just die so we could go to heaven. He died so that we might have close relationship with Him. He didn’t just need companionship, or He would have kept the angels. He wanted close relational communion with that which was made in His image. He made us capable of experiencing depths of Him that even the angels were not wired to be able to experience. We must never forget that this is who God is as Redeemer.

We’ve celebrated this aspect of who our Savior is so much, that we’ve preached and lived as though this were all He is. Amazingly, despite the centrality of the message of the cross and the place of Jesus as our Redeemer, we as the Body of Christ seem to forget our assignment on this mountain. At times, it seems we believe Christianity to be the best religion to help people behave and stop all their sinning. We seem to forget to champion Jesus—not just as the original.

Redeemer through a transaction of “getting saved,” but also as the ongoing Source and Fountain for all levels of redemption. He didn’t die just so we could start behaving and go to heaven, but so that we might have relationship with Him now (not relationship with a religion or rules). In whatever ways we have each failed in our own righteousness, we can come boldly before His throne of grace clothed in Jesus’ righteousness.
God as Redeemer is worthy of being truly understood so that we seek to establish this relational priority between God and the sons and daughters who don’t yet acknowledge Him. He’s looking for relationship, not behavior. Relationship will then engender the correct royal behavior. He isn’t just trying to get a people to behave civilly. He’s wanting us to behave royally. That only truly happens when you know your true royalty because you’re intimate enough with God to know and believe your true identity.

The Color Blue On The Mountain Of Religion

Blue is the color connected to the Mountain of Religion. It’s associated with truth, revelation, and by extension the Holy Spirit. When you look up into the sky as high as you can, or as deep in the ocean as you can, you see blue. We are constantly surrounded, from the heights to the depths, by this color of God as Redeemer.
In chromotherapy, the study and science of healing through colors, it has been identified that the color blue is said to lubricate the joints and connective tissue as well as regulate the circulatory system. These are all things related to connectivity, which is what the Holy Spirit does for us as He connects us to Jesus, to each other in the Body of Christ, and then finally to society.

Our Assurance On The Mountain Of Religion: You Have Eternal Security

When we encounter God as Redeemer, through Jesus, we are assured of our eternal security. Even though we don’t deserve it, God has secured a place for each of us forever with Him in heaven. We were valuable to God before we knew our need for Jesus, and because of our value, He sent Jesus to redeem us. As we believe in and relate to Jesus as our Savior and Redeemer, He has already dealt with everything that has ever or will ever come between each of us and God. God is capable of redeeming each of us and everything about our lives.
