The mountain of Family

An Introduction to the Mountain of Family

Are you ready to expand your perspective about God on the Mountain of Family? We’ll begin with a quick overview and then delve into the details.

In the area of culture referred to as FAMILY, we see God as PAPA, the color ORANGE. He is LOVE displayed as STRENGTH. This is the strength that family was meant to be for us — the strength of bloodline, heritage, and inheritance. It is a generational strength that was meant to help us as individuals stand against the storms of life when everything else falls apart and the one safe place you can always come back to for acceptance and love. Strength, through families, is the foundational fabric of every nation.

Satan uses the principality BAAL (PERVERSION) and the demonic strategy of the JEBUSITES (REJECTION) to distort the truth of who God is. God has given us a mighty archangel, RAPHAEL, to fight for those called to this mountain.

The LIE being perpetuated about God in the current FAMILY INSTITUTION is: WE HAVE BEEN ABANDONED AND REJECTED BY GOD.

The TRUTH about God that we will learn to display in FAMILY is: GOD HAS NOT ABANDONED OR REJECTED US.

The Face of God as Papa on the Mountain of Family

When we look into the face of God as Papa we see another strand of the love of God. Satan always comes to kill, steal, and destroy families by distorting our perspective of God through negative experiences with our earthly parents, especially our fathers. Our Heavenly Father always comes to heal, protect, and deliver. When we encounter Him as Papa we experience His heart of acceptance, which gives us the sense of belonging we were all meant to have. When we choose to acknowledge Him as our Father, we are adopted into the family of God.

Jesus perfectly revealed the heart of the Father to us in the story of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15). When the son left home to live out his rebellion, squandering all his inheritance and ending up in a literal pigpen, not only was his father ready to forgive his son’s choices, but the father instantly put his robe and ring on him, fully restoring the son’s identity, authority, and destiny. As soon as he saw his son coming down the road towards him, the father ran to meet his son. Like the father in the story, God is a Father who waits and looks hopefully our way even when we are still in the pigpen of our choices and behavior. The moment we turn His way He’s running towards us with open arms and a heart of joy.

Jesus also revealed the heart of God as Papa by the way He responded to the woman caught in adultery who was brought to Him by the most religious ones of that time. They wanted His stance on her sin, but He refused to be pressured into judging her because He knew that His stance on her heart was more important as she was being publicly shamed. After her accusers left Jesus didn’t even give her a lecture about how wrong she was, but He made sure she knew that He didn’t condemn her. He demonstrated the unconditional love of our Father by not rejecting her and by empowering her saying, “Go and sin no more.”

To succeed with our assignment on the Mountain of Family it’s not enough to try to police people’s external behavior. We’re going to have to know the heart of God as Papa so well that we overflow with His unconditional love and acceptance that changes people from the inside-out. Rules, although necessary, inform or condemn. An encounter with God’s love goes deep and heals.

The Color Orange on the Mountain of Family

Orange is the color connected to the Mountain of Family. It’s a mixture of red and yellow — red speaks of our family bloodline and yellow speaks of our individual unique glory. Combining them both, orange represents that part of our Papa’s heart that affirms we belong to Him. We are His bloodline. Whatever else you may or may not discover about who you are, you can always know that you are His and you belong in the family of God. It also represents the fact that He not only made each of us to be unique, but He also enjoys what makes you who you are. We each have our own glory or distinct beauty that delights and makes proud the heart of this Father.

In chromotherapy, the study and science of healing through colors, it has been identified that the color orange may assist in the elimination of localized fats and improving energy. Studies suggest that an unhealthy home-life contributes to obesity. When we don’t experience the strength of a healthy family that we were meant to, we become weak people living in a weakened society. Strength to resist disease is broken down when family is broken down.

Our Assurances on the Mountain of Family: You Are Accepted

When the face of God as Papa is correctly displayed as Strength on the Mountain of Family, it assures us that we all belong, we are all accepted, and we are all loved unconditionally.

God has never abandoned or rejected anyone. He isn’t just somewhere far away waiting for us to figure everything out by ourselves. God will always love every person as our perfect Father unless we choose to reject Him. He has never and will never abandon or leave any of His children alone.

CHOOSE LOVE - Episode 53 - Let Love Motivate and Inform All You Do

God is not only the source of all love, but is love itself. Because we are made in His image, we too were meant to express love the way He does, as described in the Love Chapter--1 Corinthians 13. This familiar passage, "Love is patient, love is kind..." was never about us trying harder so we could simply be a more loving person. Elizabeth brings fresh perspective of the kind of love God pours through us when we allow Him to rewire our way of thinking that leads to new ways of acting. I CHOOSE LOVE: Truth Statement Today is another day full of opportunities to know the real You and to make the real You known, to learn to be loved and to love. Today I will care for Your heart because You care for mine. Today I will love You well. I will love myself well, my family and others well. I will choose love over all else and I fully realize it will be costly to do so. (1 Corinthians 13) Today I choose to be patient, to be kind, not to be envious of anyone, and not to boast about myself or what I’ve done. I reject pride in myself and choose humility. Today I will love by not dishonoring anyone. (Love does not behave rudely.) I cannot possibly truly love while looking out for myself, so I leave that up to You. (Love does not seek its own.) I refuse to be known as one who gets angry easily. (Love is not provoked.) Today when someone wrongs me I will forgive and forget. I refuse to enjoy talking about what is wrong, but I will celebrate what is right and true. (Love rejoices in the truth.) I will always choose to protect rather than uncover or attack. I will always trust and assume the best instead of being suspicious or assuming the worst. (Love bears all things and believes all things.) The radical love I choose today will never allow me the luxury of anything less than a hopeful perspective of You or myself, my family or friends, or the world. (Love hopes all things.) I will relentlessly, without a moment or day off, continue in this kind of love — excluding no one, no matter who they are and no matter how I’ve been treated by them. (Love endures all things.) Today I cannot fail because today I choose the kind of love that always brings true success and true life. (Love never fails.) I am not a child so I refuse to talk, think, or debate like a child. (When I was a child I spoke as a child, understood, and thought as a child.) Today I live with the awareness that I will soon see You face to face and will know You as intimately as You know me, therefore I’ll act like the adult that I am and focus on what I will take with me into eternity: (Now remain faith, hope, and love.) ~ my growing ability to believe in what I cannot yet see ~ my growing ability to filter everything through the understanding that Your heart towards me is always good ~ my growing ability to choose to be extravagant with the love that You have given to me But my favorite will forever be, getting and giving this crazy love! (The greatest of these is love.) The truth is, even if I never show another person this kind of love, I will have full access to it myself. Because of its very definition I can do nothing to earn it, therefore I won’t require others to either. It is my privilege to choose daily to give this true love freely as it has been given freely to me. I refuse to be motivated by obligation, burden, or need to perform for You, but will be solely motivated by our very real love affair that can never be diminished or stolen from me. Today wherever my voice is heard and my influence is felt, let it resound with love!
